The Chinese sloganized this in an illuminating way:

Dialectics: One divides into two

Anti-Dialectics: Two combine into one.

It is surprising how often these simplified formulae actually clarify a
question. (Warning: _No_ formula, simplified or complex, negates the
need for using one's head.)
