Re: [Marxism] Pearl Harbor, etc.
How did we get here? This started with Les' comments on a study of the WTC
collapse,
comments which I thought were based on his knowledge, experience, understanding
of physics, engineering, etc.
The response to Les' comments has been a little off the mark, no matter what
you think
of who knew what, who did what on 9-11.
It's not a conspiracy theory to say that the US knew something, and maybe
exactly what
was coming; that it served certain needs of the moment. But that's not the
point either.
The point is what generates those needs, and what changes occur to make an
attack,
conspired or not, so opportune, so functional, so perfect? And that would be
an economic,
class, analysis.
In both cases, Pearl Harbor and WTC, the drivers of the process are not
conspirators,
Western, Islamic, Asian, but the changes in capital's self-reproduction that
make war more
than opportune, convenient-- that make it essential.
