Actually, although we may not have all the inside dope, Charles may be
the most monogamous male member of the British royal family since 1066.
And the fact that he connected with a normal-looking person in his own
age group, instead of with the usual string of movie actresses and
runway models,really should not be held against him. I'm sure Prince
Philip considers him an intolerable twit for all this, and Elizabeth,
who knows the way royal males have a duty to their public to behave, is
probably quite ashamed of him too.

Charles, despite his billions, seems like an intolerably boring
upper-middle-class twit, born by some mistake into a family of roaring
but also boring royal twits.  Compared to the rest of the family, he may
be more of a lesser evil than Kerry was in the last election.
