[Marxism] Moderator's note

Michael Lebowitz wrote:
I, for one, am very unhappy to see Julio's decision. I regard his
posts in general as a demonstration of a deep understanding of Marxism
(as opposed to the ferreting out of convenient Marx quotes out of
context). So, I regard his departure as the list's loss (although some
may view the removal of his perspective on the particular question as an
act of purification-- the absence of the renegade Huato permitting great
leaps in the urgent task of building revolutionary socialism).

This is not helpful.

I for one did not care what Huato said, although as a long time reader of
his posts here and on pen-l, I felt that he was using a lot of Marxist
erudition to overturn basic Marxist principles.

My comments were directed at other list members who felt the need to
conduct an ongoing struggle against his ideas. Since they were so far from
the general ideological consensus here, it seemed like a diversion from
more pressing tasks.

In any case, he has unsubbed already so I don't think that there is much
point in analyzing his departure.
