CB: I am curious to see an elaboration of the identity you see .
I'll be honest with you, I might not understand the question, but will try.
If I barked up the wrong tree please tell me so.
My whole argument is basically that a lot of the things pomos hold as sacred
cows and justifications for their musings, are in fact development of
materialist dialectics as science, and hence not only firmly modernist, but
also by default proving pomos wrong as to they sustaining that modernity has
already been trascended.
In particular, I tend to see pomos as either disaffected stalinists or as
socially-liberal conservatives (eg neo-cons), essentially co-opting
discourses in order to disarm marxist academia. And I see marxist academia
as liquidationist in that they have surrendered one by one every natural
science to the dominion of either pure conservative idealism or of pomo
reaction.
I think even Derrida in his latter years started to see this, doing
provocative statements like "without Marx there is nothing", althougth in
the same vague style of all his previous stuff.
Reactionaries in the academia have been using Godel for their purpose using
a reading of Godel that is based on Godel the person, the theist, the
idealist, but not on what Godel actually wrote and put forward. As someone
commented, Godel didn't feel there was any relationship between the HUP and
his Principle, but it has been already demonstrated on this list there is
indeed a relationship, and a deep structural one at that.
Even Einstein actually advanced QM precisely by trying to disprove it (god
doesn't play dice and all that).
Such is the way of science, at least science understood as a dialectic, as
any good marxist should.
