[Marxism] More Godel
Jim Farmelant :
Furthermore, Hawking
goes on to contend that :
-clip-
But we are not angels, who view the universe from the outside. Instead, we
and our models, are both part of the universe we are describing. Thus a
physical theory, is _self referencing_ (emphasis, CB), like in Goedels
theorem. One might therefore expect it to be either inconsistent, or
imcomplete. The theories we have so far, are both inconsistent, and
incomplete."

CB: Self-reference may come in on Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in the
aspect that in measuring ,the thing ( the electron's position and speed)
measured is changed by the measuring act, and the extent of this change
can't be measured. The measuring act cannot measure _itself_ or its own
effect, anyway. Self-reference as self-measure is what is uncertain.
The measuring of the electron is not done as by an angel from outside, to
use another aspect of Hawking's comment.
I almost said we humans are ultimately electrons, so when we measure
electrons, it's electrons measuring electrons , in self-reference, but I
have to think about that. It might be too reductionist in reducing humans to
electrons. Perhaps there's nothing wrong with reducing humans to electrons
in the context of physics. :>)
