It seems to me that everyone else calls it an invasion. A google search on
Yugoslavia+NATO+invasion gives 132,000 hits.
And a search for communist+tyranny gives 279,000.
Which "proves" absolutely nothing.
Of course, if you read the first 10 pages of "Yugoslavia+NATO+invasion",
most don't describe the actual NATO campaing as an invasion, but rather
speak of "possible" invasion, and in at leats two cases, "invasion" appears
to be used to refer to the Serbs "invading" Kosova.
Now, I must admit you are not the first person I have seen who argues that
the NATO invaded Yugoslavia, but this view I have taken it to be a minority
view. Most of the people I know, in particular those familiar either with
occupation or invasion by other countries (including myself) view it as a
"bombing campaing".
To use your own standard of googlism, "Yugoslavia+NATO+bombing" gives
269,000 hits. Little more than twice the number of hits
"Yugoslavia+NATO+invasion". And if we combine the two
"Yugoslavia+NATO+bombing+invasion" we get 68,000 or so hits.
As I said, google hits prove zero, but even by your own questionable
standard of popularity, describing the Yugoslav campaing as a "bombing
campaing" rather than an "invasion", is certainly a more popular view by
little more than 50% (52% to be more exact).
