EU move disappoints Hizb Allah

The group says the EU was pressured by US and Israel

The Lebanese resistance group Hizb Allah has expressed "disappointment"
over the European Union parliament's decision to back measures against
it if it is found to engage in "terrorist activities".


In a statement, Hizb Allah said "the decision by the European Parliament
which came as a result of foreign pressure, especially from the United
States and Israel, contradicts the parliament's principles of freedom
and democracy."

The statement follows media reports that members of the European
parliament in a resolution on Thursday agreed to take unspecified steps
against Hizb Allah if clear evidence existed of the group being involved
in terrorist activities.

The EU parliament, however, did not go as far as putting Hizb Allah on a
European list of terrorist organisations.
