For administrators, student evaluations are just a question of consumer
satisfaction.  For senior faculty, they're a way of ducking their
responsibility for evaluating the junior faculty.  For junior faculty,
they're a way to bend what you do to keep as many as possible off your
back.  For the student-consumer, they're a way of making sure that they
actually get less for their money rather than more.

All these are another argument for reform that starts with demolition
crews....
