Re: [Marxism] UFPJ Assembly, February 19-21

Personally, I agreed with the arguments of the speakers who opposed it,
and I thought that September 10th would be a tough date to mobilize
students for (as it is too soon after the beginning of the fall semester
at schools run on the semester system and a couple of weeks before the
beginning of the fall quarter at schools run on the quarter system)
Is it lost on you that it is also the date of a justifiably painful date for
most people in the USA, regardless of political affiliation?
I mean, Churchill has every right to say whatever he wants on 9/11, and we
must defend him against the hypocrites etc, but not all of those who died,
not even most, had it coming.
A lot of them were immigrant workers, in particular I think the staff and
cooks of Windows of the World comes to mind, the flight crew and passengers
of the planes used as missiles, and of course the brave fire figthers, who
are indeed the only people in the USA to whom I extend the right to be
reactionary, as long as they continue to be equal opportunity rescuers.
To do anything but an act of somber remembrance, even if it is to expose to
responsibility of our rulers on what happened, is a tactical blunder of
major proportions.
