Re: [Marxism] Paul Lafargue mini-bio

As i mentioned in a post a week or so ago, i am working on reprinting
the text from an old Socialist Labor Party english translation of Paul
Lafargue's The Religion of Capital. It should be available in pamphlet
form in a week or so (i hope to go to the printers Monday).

I looked around for biographical infomration about Lafargue in english,
and could only really find two books by Leslie Derfler (Paul Lafargue
and the Founding of French Marxism, 1842-1882 and Paul Lafargue and the
Flowering of French Socialism, 1882-1911). So, based almost completely
on stuff from these books, i wrote a short very incomplete
mini-biography which will also be included in the pamphlet. It occurred
to me that people on this list may be interested in checking it out, and
i would certainly be interested to hear what folks would have to say. So
i have put the bio and notes on the SLP translation up together at
http://www.kersplebedeb.com/mystuff/texts/lafargue.html - please feel
encouraged to send me off any feedback (positive/nagative/whatever).

If you can read German there is quite an extensive biography of Lafargue
by Fritz Keller at
http://www.marxists.org/deutsch/archiv/lafargue/biog/index.htm - Fritz
is perhaps THE present-day expert on Lafargue as he has published 2
anthologies of his work in German, one of his "feminist" writings and
one of his writings on culture. If you would like to get in touch with
Fritz (who can also speak English) contact me off-list.
