[Marxism] Re: A question about George Orwell
All of which just speaks about the superstructure, not the base...
--Carlos
__________
The superstructure of the Soviet Union became a superstructure that
excluded (mostly to death) all the original leading revolutionists
except Stalin, Molotov, and I believe one other. Aside from everything
else we know about it.
The superstructure of Hitler's Germany was the other side of the
slaughter of Communists, Socialists, Jews, Gypsies, the mentally ill,
etc.
The fight against fascism involved first of all a fight to preserve
democracy while organizing to replace it with workers democracy through
a socialist revolution.
Nearly every political struggle that socialists are engaged in,
including defense committees, anti-war committees, the fight against
repressive legislation, election campaigns, etc., is about present
superstructure.
