[Marxism] With Russian Arms Venezuela Can Take Defence to GrassRoot Level

Comrades have made reference to the famous generalization that war is
politics by other , violent means, which seems valid to me. The particulars
of the politics in any, god forbid, future U.S. invasion of Venezuela are
not simple to anticipate , but
arming the masses is a sign of the authenticity of the democracy of the
Venezuelan revolution,  and this actual democracy, ownership of the
revolution by the masses, would be an important political factor deterring
any future imperialist aggression.

Another potential, which I don't think anyone has commented on so far on
this thread, is that any U.S. invasion could give rise to a regional,
Bolivarian, guerrilla defense, uniting Venezuelans with other South American
fighters. Much of South America and even Central America might be
"destabilized" from the U.S. standpoint.  The phenomenon might become a sort
of "Che to the tenth power". The geographic proximity of Latin America to
the U.S. even creates the potential for direct attacks on the U.S.
territory. Afterall, a U.S. invasion of Venezuela and South America would
generate a lot of soldiers and fighters with "nothing to lose". This
international guerrilla army could be very large in size, and very well
armed based on acquisitions like this purchase of arms from Russia, and
future purchases. The threat of a regional ,guerrilla defense is another
politico-military factor that may deter U.S. aggression.

Chavez's expertise as a military officer probably means that he would plan
any such larger, worst-case-scenario, defense strategy better than most
presidents.

I also agree that arming the masses is a critical act to consolidate the
revolution in defense against domestic ,potential counter-revolutionaries.
