It's not Firefox's fault. Firefox follows the web standards pretty well --
far better than Microsoft's IE.

The problem you ran into was people designing web pages specifically for IE
and not following the standards for the web.

Yes, you can bow and run IE to get these pages to work, but a far better
solution is to contact the site's admins/authors and urge them to write web
pages generically for all web browsers.
