Re: [Marxism] List Demographics: February 2005

piece of cake!

now, in order to have any useful statistics, we need a random sample of
the population (which is ALL the subscribers to marxmail). so, in
order to get that, will every tenth one of you please step forward and
send les the info he is asking for? better yet, why don't we have just
the "talented tenth" answer his questionnaire? we'd look really spiffy
then! ;-)

seriously, it would be hard to do. a "volunteer" sample would be next to
useless and a ransom (ooops!) sample would be probably yield only a low
"response rate". (can you tell i have a ph.d in social psychology? 8-) )

to be specific, you would need to agitate for people to send me
(offlist if desired) a form that would look SOMEHTING like this:

subscribed address: bush@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
location: Washington, DC, USA
age: 56
Sex: M
social class: near the top of the heap
social background: spoon fed
occupation: Iraq, Afghanistan
