also, though the scientist in me jumps at the opportunity to "measure" the
group here, i am not at all clear what would be learned from such
measurements.
The scientist in me would be specially interested in class make-up,
self-definition and geographic location in terms of sampling the use of the
internet by marxists and fellow travellers. This list is a long with
trainspotters probably the biggest left-wing discussion list on the
internet, and hence, it does provide a significant sample to have hard data
as to the real, not imagined, content of the radical internet. (In this
sense one field I would add is ethnic origin.)
It would certainly serve a purpose of a deeper understanding of the nature
of political radicalism on the internet, which needless to say, to any
revolutionary is invaluable data.
