I stand corrected about the Cherokees. As far as I know the Riel - Red River
rebellion was followed by a few hanging not by a general massacre of the
defeated and their women and children - genocide if you will. There is a
difference. Perhaps a Canadian comrade could contribute about the
differences because I am sure they were there even if I have got details
wrong.
