[Marxism] British Genocide and intentionality

There is little doubt that the British army in colonial America and New
South Wales deployed smallpox as a weapon of mass destruction.  The
Australian case was a simple repeat exercise as the many marines who invaded
New South Wales in 1788 had served in North America in several capacities,
including under the smallpox General Gage.  See New England Journal article:

Aggression" is pivotal (and more recently Elizabeth Fenn's work).  The
Britsh simply repeated past practice but, unfortunately for British
imperialist history, this was in an environment where it was obvious that
the British could be the only source of smallpox.  In colonial America,
deniers cause confusion because smallpox may have had alternative
non-military sources - not so in Australia (although the rightwing orchestra
based in the magazine "Quadrant" have tried to pretend otherwise).

The case for intentionality and genocide is clear.  Ward Churchill is not
the first to have registered this fact.  However in New South Wales it is
hard to find evidence that this intention was official endorsed policy of
the 18th century British government.

Naturally 'rightwingers' wage ideological war against those who equate the
rights of indigenous peoples with the rights of Western whites or try to
obtain some redress for the world's long-suffering and near-exterminated
indigenous peoples.


This isue is important for Marxists, as the OECD-West is enjoying the wealth
and privelege it has only obtained by the exploitation of the rest of the
globe.  This has lead to a fundamental degeneration in Marxist theory and
political practice.
