RE: [Marxism] Genocide and intentionality

OK, I understand that, though I think there are better ways to achieve
these goals.

Some of my best friends are academics, but I don't trust their political
judgements any more than I would anyone else's.

Academe is a factory for producing rationalizations about what is and
academics keep that factory running, while also cloning themselves to
insure that the rationalizations continue to roll off the assembly line
as rapidly as they are needed. Even when we're discussing a clear cut
case of academic freedom--a truly minimal issue--academics themselves
see it only as an opportunity to produce more...rationalizations

Grad students are often much worse because they have to prove their
loyalty continually.

Now, as a byproduct of producing rationalizations, academe might produce
some good and useful insights, but nothing it won't repudiate at the
first opportunity.

Best,
Mark L.
