[Marxism] Another letter defending Ward Churchill

My apology to Roger Baker and anyone else who may have misunderstood my
post. It was not a message to Marxmail. It was a copy of an e-mail that
I sent to University of Colorado Chancellor DiStefano. The confusion is
due to my failure to include the salutation in the copy that I posted
here.

Dear Chancellor DiStefano,

I am not familiar with Ward Churchill's full academic work. However, I
am extremely appreciative of his studies of American Indians and of his
book The COINTELPRO Papers, which documents the active repression of
American progressive movements from the 1950s through the 1970s.

It would be a great defeat for academic freedom and for free discussion
in general should he or others be punished for statements, however
expressed, that have at their base the intent to make us all think
deeply about our moral responsibility.
