This film is not available on DVD, and this is the ONLY copy available in
the

Quiet Storm is a highly challenging new black feature film produced in
London. This film addresses the world-wide struggle of African peoples for
freedom. It screened successfully at various locations throughout the UK and
Europe.

This is a politically motivated full-length action thriller based on four men
--from Africa, the U.S., the Caribbean, and England-- who meet at a Pan
African meeting and conclude that for there to be positive change in social
and economic conditions, the policies of corrupt leaders, the IMF and World
Bank must be dealt with.

The film was nominated for a Screen Nation Film Award in the category of
Independent Production/Film in England in September of 2004. Quiet Storm has
not been released, and only screened a few times in the US: Medgar Evers
College (10/21/04), Oberia-Dempsey (12/10/04), and Borough of Manhattan Comm.
College (2/9/05) and Seton Hall U. This screening is a unique
opportunity.
Please feel free to visit www.quietstormfilm.com where you can view a 3
minute trailer, a full synopsis and information concerning the film.

Sliding Scale $6, $10, $15

S.E. Anderson writes:

'Quiet Storm' is one of the few recent Black feature
films that is explicitly political. How far will a small
group of seriously determined Brothas from Africa
and the Diaspora go to help jumpstart real PanAfrican
economic and social development?

Is protracted mass organizing in this era of US global rule
an obsolete concept and "guerrilla surgical military and
economic strikes" at the Empire's key institutions and its
families the new "revolutionary answer?" Is the late
Black Panther Party leader Huey Newton's concept of
"Revolutionary Suicide" finally an acceptable and
necessary part of our struggle for PanAfrican
Liberation?

Many will not agree with some of the strategies and tactics
worked out in this film. But, we will definitely be discussing
this film like Sistas & Brothas discussed "The Battle for Algiers"
some 30+ years ago. It will be a positive politicizing experience
BECAUSE it will provoke discussions and reveal to the less
politically aware viewer some serious lessons in imperialism's
plunder of Africa and the Diaspora.

"Quiet Storm" is a must-see flick.

!!! Y O U M U S T S E E I T !!!!

Do you remember when you saw ROOTS or SANKOFA for the first time?
Do you remember the impact it made on how you looked at
life?
Quiet Storm will make an impact.

The goal is to move this film independently throughout our various
communities, to share the powerful vision and information in the film, and to
create distribution networks that put out positive, empowering images and
cultural work. We are inviting all who can participate in creating this
groundswell and those that have networks to help move this critical film
throughout the nation.
