Re: [Marxism] XXXXX Bashfest 2005
This psuedo reply proves my point?
I believe you didn't even bother reading what I wrote. In what part of my
posts do I regurgitate ill-digested Marxist language? Where?
Or for example:
You can debate about slogans like "individualism" and "collectivism" a
long time but without a closer specification of these terms it means
nothing, it is just puberal abstract blather.
I said as much!
As a matter of fact, I don't disagree at all with you on this specific way
of structuring things. And said as much.
I just disagreed with your conclusion that the wild jungle the former Soviet
Union has become...
You might consider me a spoilt baby. That is irrelevant.
But I at least listen, instead of being a self-absorved "intellectual" who
belives that "facts & figures" are the alpha and omega of any discussion,
and that replies can be given to conversation when the ignore the
interlocutor.
You don't write for the one holding the conversation, but for everyone.
Again, that is fine and dandy, if the medium were a blog or a website, but
on a list that is supposed to be about open ended debate, it comes across as
deeply arrogant.
You apparently doen't read what other people say, but has already made up
your mind as to what people are.
Such prejudice is another glarring contradiction in your discourse. Crucify
me for what I say, but don't even try to crucify me for what I didn't, but
you assumed I did. If you are going to advocate democracy, at least have the
simple decency of practicing it, in a real, material way, not in an
abstract, discursive way.
Unfortunately, I also feel like I am wasting my time, because you will
indeed continue to offer instead of conversation, a one sided didactic
pronounciation. And will continue to make the worse "Stalinist" blush in
humility at your authoritarianism and one-sideness. C'est la vie.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I dislike that ranting Carlos Rivera alias
"sks" (whoever that is) who throws about abstract slogans and hate
messages and then expects people to pay attention to him. What a spoilt
baby. You can debate about slogans like "individualism" and "collectivism"
a long time but without a closer specification of these terms it means
nothing, it is just puberal abstract blather. I have done my best to
inject posts to this list which are informative and substantive, i.e.
provide data, insight and argument, and not sterile rhetorical ranting
which just regurgitates ill-digested Marxist vocabulary. But I'm starting
to feel I am wasting my time.
