[Marxism] Re: Mahabad Republic

I take Sancar's post from someone who is cynical about criticism of the
USSR. Someone who will tolerate 'some' criticism but only within
limits. It seems to me that someone who is so cynical about history
shouldn't be discussing it at all. It's too bad, too, since much of the
meat of Sancar's critique *of* the Mahabad Republic is actually quite
fascinating, and all aspects of this history should be expanded upon.
But Sancar declares criticism of the USSR off limits...why is this? To
declare it off limits means he wants to excise this history from the
history of the post-WWII period. Why in the world, Sancar, would you
want to that?

You hint at possible criticisms of the USSR policy, within your own
limits, of course, but to go outside this is somehow deemed unworthy.
I'm sure those interested in Greek and Yugoslav history might not
concur with your outlook...not to mentioned those Azerbaijanis right
next door to Kurdistan who set up their own workers republic. Politics
does not exist in a vacuum...the USSR and the interaction of the USSR
with Imperialism radicalized millions around the world. It helped
*define* politics during this period in almost every country in the
world, and Tehran and Postadam were all part of this... whether you
like people's critique of it or not.
