you must mean Winston not Ward Churchill! I can't imagine extracting any
leftwing politics from Heidegger's thought. I have never heard of a
leftwing Heideggerian, unlike leftwing weberians, freudians, etc. Even
Sartre and Marcuse had left Heidegger's thought behind, Marcuse by 1932
at the latest, and Sartre by 1946. And will you point me to some "useful
observations about the real world" which you ascribe to Husserl? I never
found any myself.

Actually I think Heidegger's teacher Husserl, whom he betrayed in a
failed effort to become part of the New Order, had more useful
observations about the real world than Heidegger, though Sartre, whom I
respect, respected Heidegger.
