Actually only the male orgasm is necessary to the propagation of our
species through the usual methods, implying that the female orgasm is
somehow a luxury (as many women even today will attest  :-P ) I've never
heard of a man ejaculating without an orgasm, even though some men
sometimes think that is the case. (a women I once went to bed with said,
after I had an orgasm, "Are you through?")

Besides, the clitoris was mistakenly described by an earlier poster as
an external organ but, the last time I looked, it is not, being covered
by a little hood, and only now and then does it make an appearance, not
unlike our tongues.  In terms of evolutionary theory the clitoris still
baffles  me and I haven't been able to put my finger on it.
