[Marxism] Fw: Sponsoring the anti-war march 3/19 in Fayetteville
NC Peace Action is working with UFPJ to make the upcoming anti-war march
in
Fayetteville (in the heart of N.C., whose billboards proudly proclaim
it "The Most Military-Friendly State In America") a major action. They
are
calling for both personal and organizational sponsors. Basically the hat
is
being passed around for $$, in exchange for a sponsor mention in the
action
broadsheet they will print off and distribute at the action.
The Support Our Troops: Bring Them Home Now! weekend of peace events
March 18-20 in Fayetteville is becoming a major national hotspot for
ending the war in Iraq. People are driving from all over the country to
be there, and international media know about it and are watching.
Whether or not you can be part of this important witness against the war,
YOU CAN HELP BY BECOMING AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP CO-SPONSOR.
IT'S VERY EASY AND I HOPE YOU CAN JUMP NOW TO OUR WEBSITE AND SIGN UP, IF
YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY.
Just go to www.NCpeacejustice.org and click on the Co-sponsor link.
Among the many costs of a mass rally of this kind, are those to bring in
key speakers--mostly veterans and military families who appreciate the
backing of those who support their daring to resist this war. Your
individual co-sponsor donation of $20 or group donation of $50 makes it
possible for these voices to be heard. We will send all co-sponsors
important updates about rides, logistics and other news as March 19
approaches.
Please check out the website to find out more about what has been
predicted to be the most noticed of about 350 peace rallies planned in
America on the second anniversary of our invasion of Iraq. What is
notable about the Fayetteville gathering is the leadership of and focus
on those who know best about the devastation of the Iraq war--veterans
and military families.
There will be buses you can ride to the rally from many NC locations.
Please consider joining with sponsors Military Families Speak Out, Iraq
Veterans Against the War, Bring Them Home Now, Quaker House, Fayetteville
Peace With Justice, Veterans for Peace, NC Peace and Justice Coalition,NC
Peace Action , NC PA Ed. Fund , and the NC Council of Churches in
standing up for "Money for Jobs and Education, NOT for War and
Occupations."
Call 919-828-6501 if you have questions. And feel free to send this
bulletin out to any and all who agree it's time to stop the war. Many
thanks.
