[Marxism] James Daly's wrong address tells truth
A dhaoine uaisle,
Firstly, I certainly didn't have in my mind my recent disagreement with
James Daly when I commented on Louis' post. The implication that I was
referring to either of Daly or Ferguson as toadies is a nonsense. I
don't consider them such at all. The post was on the US left dilettants
who play act and talk about making revolution rather than dirtying their
hands and bending their backs in the process. I don't think that this
applies to either Daly or Ferguson who can't be accused of a lack of
commitment - rather of a sectarian supremacy to the living movement of
the people when and where it does exist. They are just wrong in my
count. I don't know who they would be toadying towards - they seem to
revel in their insignificance and ideological 'purity'. So wrong call in
misattributing this James but thanks for the information.
James Daly wrote (in square brackets on my original notes):
Right on Louis - always your best when tackling the toadies [[says Donal
the toady of Louis -- in desperate call for moderation from Louis? But
he couldn't moderate Fred Feldman!]] of the 'left'. [[P. F. and JD?]]
I'm not a toady to anyone on this list. I would have to say however that
I have the utmost respect for the type of analysis coming from people
like Ed George and the depth of knowledge and guts exhibited by people
like Melvin, despite his aggressive tone. Louis' arguments with
dilettante leftists are good for my soul however and it moved me to
respond publicly as I have occasionally before when someone said
something I agree with entirely.
> The imperative is action [[taking seats in Westminster (the only
> "Parliament", apparently!)]] not fine words [[a la snooty "Emperor's
> clothes" reference]] or intellectual stimulation and
> self-gratification [[sans paroles]].
I believe that your difficulty here is that action is more difficult
than revolutionary phrase-mongering. You should know action in my
opinion strays way beyond parliamentary cretinism - particularly in the
British parliament. But you're baiting me again aren't you.
>Couldn't say it or feel it [[touchy feely]] any better. [[Obviously! He
>replied via an irrelevant post from the boss!]]
You obviously have more difficulties with Louis than I do; however, you
don't say them outright as I have when I have felt them. I call it the
way I see it. Otherwise, what the hell's the use of this list. We all go
around like old maidens in whispering campaigns about each other. This
miss-post has told me a lot about you. The one time I emailed to the
list by mistake it wasn't anything I couldn't stand over and defend.
> [[ Baiting Donal is becoming too easy]]
I honestly thought that you were about more than baiting people. I don't
bait, perhaps I enjoy rubbing noses but baiting is not constructive. I
will remember this admission when I read some of your 'off the wall'
comments in future and decide not to respond.
Is mise,
DoC.
