Why do you claim this?
There were Red Armies in the late 1840's revolutions in other parts of
Europe. Notably, the leader of the first armed group to ever fly the red
flag of socialism later became a high ranking officier in the Union army in
the USA during the civil war.
As much as I admire the Irish socialist struggle, and Conolly above all,
your claim is not true.
