thanks J. i have Outlook 2000 on most of the machines here and doubt i
will upgrade it. i'll check online docs for Outlook 2003++ before giving
anymore outlook advice. unless Lou has a recent copy of outlook, then i
will install it just to keep up with the bulk of subscribers.but the
advice remains the same in spirit, shut off quoted-printable if M$ allows
to. i will check registry hacking if thats what it takes.

on the other hand, i REALLY DO recommend switching to Thunderbird.

I am under the impression that when you download IE, you get Outlook
Express, which is a different piece of software from Outlook--something
that Dells, Compaq, etc. come with out of the factory. Outlook Express
seems to allow you to make the kinds of format changes that Les recommended
without any problems.
