[Marxism] Let's expose the unfair division of income! (Barry Brooks)
I would suggest one common reading of the Labour Law of Value is to pose a
dichotomy between profits and wages; whereas in my reading the dialectical
opposition commences with antagonism between Value and Use - Value: in this
manner profits are a synthesis which cannot be reduced to a simplistic
antagonism to wages in as much as wages are an a-priori of this synthesis. It
has served us well to remember the tendency of capital to subsume all
qualitative use values while expanding through quantitative ones. Thus what
matters is that labour power is paid its full use-value and this necessitates
that profits be reduced to cover that ever hidden portion of unpaid wages. You
may be right in that profit sharing with workers is the only formula that
permits capital in its current stage to appear to be equitable. But equity
lies in the ownership of the means of production.
