 hi Les,

     I sent something from the CP paper about the killing of the Iraqi trade 
union official. You didn't print it, but sent out the below. Since then a 
number of posts have included whole articles like the one I sent. Did you 
change your mind? Personally, I have no problem with whole articles, but this 
is not my email list. And I don't care that much if you don't post that 
article, but I don't understand your rules now. Bye, Stan

In the past day or so i've seen some key posting rules broken. let's 
review policy.

we have a subscriber base of almost 700 people scattered around the 
world. we recognize that some of these comrades read the list behind a 
slow network access points. so we tend to limit posting size and 
disallow attachments.

therefore:

do not post any pictures or binary files (Word docs, spreadsheets, etc) [*]


do not post complete articles that are available on the Internet [**]. 
instead, post select paragraphs that make your point, and include a link 
to the complete article.


do not quote the entire text of a message you are replying to. this 
tends to make the message size much larger than need be.


* --> if your post requires that readers see a Word file or a 
spreadsheet, send the required files offlist to me, and i will take care 
of posting them to the list.

** --> we debated this several years ago, whether comrades behind slow 
access points would want to surf the net to acquire the complete article 
rather than the convenience of having the entire post included in the 
message to the list. since we did not get enough feedback from 
subscribers, we decided to keep this rule, hence do NOT post copmplete 
articles available on the web. if you disagree with this policy and are 
from a country or region with slowwwwww access, shout up now.
