[Marxism] James Petras on Chavez
In his most recent contribution to counterpunch, James Petras appears to have
zero comprehension of the tactical, diplomatic and administrative complexities
that the Chavez and the Venezuelan gov have to deal with. Unable to attack
Chavez with genuine Marxist analysis, Petras instead relies on ultraleft
pedantry.
In his call for the "people of good will" to unite behind Granda's rights as a
political prisoner, Petras makes no mention of how extraordinarily difficult
such a task will be given FARC's own hostage kidnappings, which include a
petty-bourgeois anti-corruption campaigner.
