[Marxism] "a fish always stinks from the head" (Russian proverb)

Although it is their masters who put them in harm's way, in war is
often the grunts in the line of fire who commit the personal
atrocities--at least the ones who are caught. But as in Abu Ghraib and
My Lai, it is the chain of command who give the orders and who order
the coverup.

In Fallujah a soldier caught on camera murdering an Iraqi fighter will
eventually be brought up on charges of murder. It was however higher
command that in both May and November of last ordered that no combat
age men were to be allowed to leave Fallujah. In other words, they were
penned in so the assault could kill them all.

Collin Powell, then a Major, was one of those who covered up the My Lai
massacre. Lt. Col. Nate Sassaman may not advance so far. Or he may:
look how far "Torture Memo Man Salazar" is going.

An Army officer from Aloha had soldiers rehearse misleading statements
they later gave to investigators looking into the death of an Iraqi,
according to testimony given at the military trial of one of the
soldiers.

Lt. Col. Nate Sassaman, a popular figure in Aloha and the Portland
area, gave the two soldiers instructions on what to tell investigators,
Maj. Robert Gwinner told a panel of jurors on Thursday in Fort Hood,
Texas.
