RE: [Marxism] Six questions for Zivko from truly yours
As I suspected, your concern is over things that bear no relevance to the
original discussion. Nonetheless, here are some simple answers.
Tell me, Zivko, would you say that the Yugoslav population,
particularly the toiling classes, was (a) for break up of the country
during the late 80s - early 90s,
That's debatable. Great majority of the Croatian and Slovenian population,
for example, voted for secession. The background to this was, of course,
hyperinflation.
(b) for NATO intervention and
invasion in the late 1990s,
No.
and (c) for the illegal abduction and
judgement in a kangaroo court of their President Slobodan Milosevic
as well as of many officials whose single sin had been to resist the
invasion?
No. I think it quite obvious that this was an alienated maneuver by the DOS
government. Even the majority of the 'popular' anti-Milosevic opposition was
against the abduction.
[Of course, I am begging you to be schematic. I would feel quite
disappointed if your answer were "ah, things were very complex".
This is taken for granted. What I want to know is what do you think
the general balance was.]
Things were in deed very complex, and, in fact, if one doesn't understand
this very complexity of things, one fails to understand the Balkans all
together.
And (d) would you (you, Zivko, you yourself) deem that population
"guilty" for the fate that fell upon Yugoslavia because they kept
Milosevic in power
No.
, or (e) fools who were duped into voting a
Quisling,
More or less, yes, but I only answer with a sort of straight "yes" to keep
you happy. "Things were very complex."
or (f) define the electoral system that kept Milosevic in
power as essetially treacherous, corrupt and undemocratic?
No.
Yours,
Zivko V.
