[Marxism] Broué, Vilar
Paul F.:
"Broué is a prolific writer. List members who can read French should
also read his biographies of Trotsky and Rakovsky, and his history of
the Communist International, all long and detailed works."
There are versions in Spanish of at least the history of the
Communist International and this book we are talking about.
Don't know if they are still available.
But yes, they were excellent.
Both Broué and Vilar, two quite similar authors, are extraordinary
historians. Vilar's work on the Spanish Civil War is still a must
reading, and other things by him on Spain: for example his
extraordinary piece on the _Quixote_ and the Spain of Charles the
Fifth and Philip the Second deserves long and repeated reading for
anyone interested in understanding both the history of Spain and of
Latin America.
