Re: [Marxism] Moderator's note

It should also be noted that it is now very, very
easy (and without cost) to create one's own list.
This would be extremely useful to those children
of the capitalist system who already know, with
precision, which Marxist solutions will work.

I doubt that such atomization will serve the purpose of helping us move
forward. I certainly believe that honest differences, however deep they
might be, have to be confronted. This list, which is read by many more than
it is contributed to, has been such a space, even if Louis desicions in the
past and present have been subject to controversy.

I must say that of all the responses, yours has been the most shocking and
unexpected to me.

To call, like louis did, for self-restraint and a re-establishing of the
purpose of this list is one thing. In the main, it is a positive thing,
because however we approach the question, it relies more on common sense and
an subjectivity than on a presumption to owning the truth.

To call for the further atomization, like you do, of an important space for
conversation, news and debate is certainly more negative, than positive.

sks
