This blog has been drawing together a few political threads from all over with
contributions mainly from readers and supporters of Green Left Weekly and among 
the
membership of the Australian Socialist Alliance.

It is becoming clearer what the political imperatives should be in the context 
of this
disaster and many of the local activist organisations in South Asia(whose 
outlook we
are also trying to reflect) as well as seeking support are asking for a debt 
cancellation
campaign.

The international discussion on this crisis is only just beginning as people 
begin to
weigh up the reality in the light of the need. Since Australia is on a major
Xmas/summer holiday break and left journals  are taking a break  --as activists 
do too--
this blog can tie us over for the time being.
