Louis, I accept and agree with all your points on how the decline of the
USSR have made many things worse in the world, and the USSR's importance for
liberation movements. That said, is it possible to make a distinction
between Stalinism as under Stalin (and under figures such as Ceaucescu and
others) and the post-Stalin USSR (and countries such as Cuba, say)? Possible
to defend the latter without the former, which is indeed to my mind as bad
as capitalism or fascism.
