[Marxism] re Primitive Accumulation in North American

>Can anyone recommend a book, etc. that discusses primitive accumulation
in North America?<

I can't put my hands on it at the moment but Rosa Luxemburg's
Accumulation of Capital argues that primitive accumulation continued
long after the early modern period that Marx described in Kapital. She
has a number of chapters dealing with the struggle between capitalism as
generalized commodity production and precapitalist economic formations.
In chapters on the struggle against natural, peasant and petty
commodity economies, Rosa draws on the North American experience in
some detail. What's most provocative is her treatment of the small
farmers of N. America in the late 19th C. who she saw as not simply the
beneficiaries of the destruction of the native economies of the Plains
Indians, but also as a sphere of accumulation for emergent industrial
capital following the Civil War.
