Re: [Marxism] Primitive accumulaton in No. America
But see these:
http://www.columbia.edu/~lnp3/mydocs/origins/post1.htm
http://archives.econ.utah.edu/archives/ope-l/2003m07/msg00016.htm
which are the product of a search of "Charles Post slavery capitalism" in
Google. If anyone wants Charlie's original NLR article (which I still haven't
read!) let me know.

Interesting question. I don't know if you are going to find anything that
specific since the term primitive accumulation tends to be hardwired to the
European experience in general and the British isles specifically.
That is unfortunate in my opinion, since the liquidation of the American
Indian and the import of slaves is essentially an act of primitive
accumulation. Without making Indian land available and without having
Africans to work the expropriated lands, there would be no transition to
industrial capitalism.
There are many works that deal with this history, but I am not sure whether
they subsume it under the category of primitive accumulation. I would
recommend Francis Jennings's excellent works on the American Indian and
Herbert Aptheker on all aspects of American history.
