[Marxism] "acting white" - a myth?

On the one hand, what appears to be a useful study showing the claim that Black 
students criticize achievers as "acting white" is a myth perpetrated by those 
trying to hide discrimination:

On the other hand -- same paper, same day -- a story about a Black firefighter 
discouraged at disinterest of other Blacks in joining the department, saying 
some accuse him of being a Tom:

The truth? Probably some in both.
After all, discrimination does breed discouragement and the attitudes that come 
from it. And those seeking to overcome discouragement encourage the creation of 
myths by the discriminators and on and on.
