Since I am not a Marxist - just someone interested in Marx and who has worked
with Marxists in the past - I guess I am free to question current
orthodoxies. Why on earth do materialists tail after people whose vision of
society is
so radically and irretrievably different than their own? I loathe the
western capitalist and his rapacious appetite for exploitation; but I am
slightly
closer to his view of modernity and what life worth living than those whose
chief stock in somewhere in a next world.

That is my last word on the matter.
