[Marxism] Bush and U.S. Constitution
According to the U.S. Constitution: "The electors shall vote by ballot
for President and vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an
inhabitant of the same state as themselves." So, for example, according
to this clause, inserted as an attempt to increase regional diversity,
electors in Texas could not vote for both a President and vice-President
who are both "inhabitants" of the State of TExas (other state electors
could but not those from Texas). Seeing this contradiction, the Bush
creatures, just before the 2000 election, summarily declared Cheney to
be an "inhabitant" of Wyoming. Problem? At the time, Cheney's drivers'
license was from Texas, his primary residence was in Dallas, his tax
returns showed he was an inhabitant of Texas, he was registered to vote
in Texas (although he did not bother to vote for Bush in the 2000 Texas
primary, Wyoming as a one-year residency requirement to be considered a
resident or inhabitant, and Cheney had only begun to call himself a
Wyoming inhabitant six months before the 2000 election, plus, Wyoming
law prohibits using the state as a residence of convenience and mandates
six months continuously which Cheny had not done in years.
Texas has 39 electoral votes. If the 2000 [s]election or the recent
[s]election had resulted in Bush with 309 electoral votes, no problem as
only 270 are needed to win. But with the slim spread in electoral votes,
the electoral votes of Texas in 2000 and recently were patently
constitutionally illegal as they were cast. The Dems clearly knew about
this and said/did nothing.
