[Marxism] Fallujah is pretty much destroyed
Embedded photographer Luis Sinco
Video interview with synchronized pictures at:
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/iraq/
EXTRACTS:
The JAG officer gave the rules of engagement: see a man 30 years or
younger, light them up, woman 30 years or younger, light them up.
Someone with a cell phone, light them up.
Basically everyone in town is a legitimate target. It was a free-fire
zone.
Houses were all abandoned. Weapons inside, ammo stashes everywhere.
The town is pretty much destroyed. Fallujah was known as the city of
Mosques. All the mosques are extensively damaged. The downtown area was
a Warsaw. Bomb holes, bullet holes everywhere. The town is pretty much
devastated.
Even as we were winning, the country was imploding. It just doesn’t
seem like it’s getting any better.
_________
Further down there is a long article on why the Marines first started,
then halted an earlier assault on Fallujah, titled "Why America Has
Waged a Losing Battle on Fallouja"
