Perhaps it is a sufficient thing. In its last several years (when I was
a member) it had become widely agreed in LRS (including the leadership)
that revolution in the U.S. would involve multiple parties. I don't
think one can wholly break away from what Lou calls market-share
politics as long as the concept of "The Vanguard Party" is retained.
With multiple parties working in coalitions, it would be easier, not
harder, to maintain discipline over the coalition's (or coalitions')
center. When I speak of discipline over the center I am thinking of the
way the UFPJ national 'leadership' in effect dissolved the anti-war
movement into the DP over the last 10 months.
