Thanks, Nestor. And I must add that of anti-Chinese "patriotism" has been
fostered in Brazil by some Far Right nutters, who, however, cannot cut much
grass when the most rightist social group in Brazilian society, the
latifusdists, is the one who is to profit most in the short run from the
Chinese card .

I favour any kind of increased commercial exchange between Brazil and China
, which of course include not only soybean exports but also development of
satellite technology - meaning that Brazil will not be supplied with
sensible information by American satellites- as well as Chinese
semi-private, semi-state investments in Brazilian infrastructure, etc. The
only problem I'm pointing at is that such welcome developments tend , in the
short-medium run - or even in the long run, given the absence of a
revoluctionary project - to be absorbed into our "combined and uneven
development" totality , and to foster all kinds of reactionary interests (as
the whole Lula presidency, by the way, which is at the same time a feat of
democratization of the Brazilian Body Politic and the incorporation into the
overall bourgeois order of a most _parvenu_ tradeunionist burocracy).
