[Marxism] Lula follows Bush method...

I just want to add that all that Louis describes in terms of Mexico's
historical relationship with Cuba is a good thing, IMHO. I applaud the
Cuban/Mexican relationship as it has clearly benefited the Cuban
Revolution, both economically and politically. For that matter,
Francisco Franco never broke relations relations either with the Cuban
gov't despite quite opposing ideologies.

This all, basically, addresses the diplomatic and some economic
relationships. And, I think it is fine. Clearly, the Cuban gov't
doesn't address domestic concerns in Brazil and Mexico, which makes
sense from this diplomatic angel. It tries to increase, slightly, the
wedge between these developing capitalist countries and the US, which
is also a good thing (albeit it's not worked recently with the now
years-long spat between Fidel in Cuba and Fox in Mexico).

For revolutionaries at the level of...the revolution...our views cannot
be decided by the diplomatic niceties of this or that treaty, it can
only be guided by the actual class struggle on the ground in those
countries. Because Cuba does not generally comment on this, doesn't
mean they at all *endorse* these gov't policies. As Marxists we can
look, then, objectively at the class struggles as they unfold in these
large semi-developed countries. The conclusion/points about Brazil/the
PT/Lula then can be discussed much more clearly this way, especially
with regards to the Brazilian working class.
