[Marxism] Lula follows Bush method...

Indeed, Lula is following Bush's method. The heart of the article deals
mostly with the Cabinet reshuffle, putting yet more pro-free-market
reformists in important posts. The last part of the article how
explains, accurately, how the PT yet again rejects any condemnation of
the Lula gov'ts' pro-capitalist "reforms".

Lula has privatized in his first year in office more social services
than the entire Cardozo gov't before him. He has pushed a "social
security reform" that is gutting pensions for state workers. More
landless workers have dies under his administration than in the entire
combined administrations since the fall of the military regime! He's
broken most of his promises to the unions and kept most his promises to
the bosses. In many ways, Lula is playing the exact same role as
numerous Mexican PRI gov'ts., independence from the US on foreign
policy, but attacks on workers domestically. I think Walter is being
quite blinded by Cuban sunglasses to see that what Lula is doing
domestically is to shore up capitalism, break the power of the unions
and otherwise doing what any Popular Front type gov't would do: hold
back the class struggle.
