[Marxism] Iraq: Crimes of the Invader (Granma)

THIS IS BEING POSTED FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE "MARXMAIL" READERS
WHO CONTINUE TO QUESTION THE LEGITIMACY OF THE IRAQI RESISTANCE.

Here in Cuba, we saw the CNN coverage featured on the evening
news last night. It's a horrible thing to witness. One really has
to wonder how some people who call themselves "Marxists" and who
write documents on a list called "Marxmail" can spend their time
masturbating over abstract theoretical questions about the nature
of the Iraqi resistance. They say in Harlan County, there are no
neutrals there. You either are a union man or a thug for
J.H. Blair. Today we'd say a union "person", but the same applies
otherwise. Which side are you on? Which side are you on?

What kind of political standpoint is it where self-designated
"revolutionaries" from the country which is invading Iraq spend
their time looking for reasons NOT to take sides on a question
as fundamental as that which is unfolding in Iraq today?

Crimes of the invader

Arab world outraged by murder of Iraqi

DUBAI.-- There is anger throughout the Arab world today provoked by
footage of a Yankee soldier shooting a wounded Iraqi to death inside a
mosque, and the reality that this could not possibly be an isolated
incident, given that the cameraman who shot the footage affirmed that
there were other cases.

Reuters reported that many viewers have said that the footage of a
marine killing a seriously wounded Iraqi - rerun dozens of times on
Arab television - has increased hatred for the United States and
helped to create more resistance fighters.

According to Reuters, Muslims websites have called for fierce
reprisals and strongly criticized pro-U.S. Muslim leaders for
remaining silent.

Some viewed the death of the Iraqi as a personal slight.

Meanwhile, EFE reported that today in Ankara, Abdula Gul, the Turkish
foreign minister condemned the cold-blooded murder of the unarmed and
wounded Iraqi, perpetrated by a U.S. soldier inside a mosque in the
city of Falluja.

The headlines of the main Turkish dailies today accused the invading
troops of perpetrating "brutal acts" just as U.S. troops did during
the war in Viet Nam.

EFE also reported that almost 30 people died today in diverse clashes
and attacks throughout Iraq.

Despite the announcement that the invaders had crushed the resistance
focos of insurgents in the besieged city of Falluja are still battling
against the U.S. troops nine days after the bombing started, and
further clashes have been reported today.
