Citywide Meeting on Building the Peace Movement

December 1st Wednesday
6:30 PM
235 West 23 St (between 7 and 8 Ave)
Manhattan

As soon as Election Day ended, the Bush administration escalated the
war in Iraq with the siege on Falluja. United for Peace and
Justice-NYC, as well as other groups, went into the streets with
vigils, picket lines and began calling Congress and the White House.

With the humanitarian crisis still unfolding in Falluja and the Iraqi
civilian and U.S. troops deaths mounting, we need to take stock of our
movement for peace and justice. We need to explore how we continue the
struggle with creative organizing methods, while at the same time
expanding the base of support for ending the occupation and bringing
the troops home.

The citywide meeting on Wednesday, December 1st will be an opportunity
for discussion about the meaning of the election, what's happening in
Iraq and how we will organize a stronger movement in the greater New
York City area. We hope you will be able to attend this important
meeting.
